Full-grain calfskin finished on the reverse for a soft, velvety nap — a living surface whose nap direction (and so its shade) shifts with brushing and use. Suede is a living surface — its nap deepens where it is held most, and every piece develops its own character over time. Protect from the first day with a suede or nubuck protector spray, applied in two light coats on a clean, dry surface. Reapply every six to eight weeks depending on wear and weather. Brush gently in one direction with a soft suede brush; a crepe brush revives the nap wherever friction has left the surface shiny. If it gets wet, blot with a dry microfibre cloth, fill the bag with ink-free paper to hold its shape, and let it air-dry at room temperature away from sun and direct heat. Brush once dry. Never use a hairdryer or radiator. Never apply wax, oil, grease, or smooth-leather conditioner to suede — they stain the surface and flatten the nap. Store in a breathable cotton dust bag, never plastic, away from direct light.
